Our Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) class is an immersive two-day learning experience that provides students a deep dive into Agile principles and the concepts and practices that define the Scrum framework. Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, students are eligible to take the Scrum Alliance’s Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) exam to become Certified ScrumMasters. The exam is an open-book, hour-long, 50-question test that requires a passing score of 37 correct answers. Students who complete the CSM course receive two prepaid exam attempts. Any student who does not pass the exam after two attempts may retake Sprightbulb’s CSM course for free. Since 2018, 98% of Sprightbulb’s students pass the exam on their first attempt, and 100% have passed by a second attempt.

What You Will Learn in CSM Training

Organized by a product backlog and completed through four half-day sprints, we use Scrum to teach Scrum in our CSM course. Sprint planning is used to identify the sprint goals and key learning modules for each sprint. The task board and burndown charts are used to create transparency and track progress to completion. Sprint reviews and retrospectives ensure students are engaged. Key topics include:
  • Agile and Scrum fundamentals
  • Iterative vs. incremental processes
  • Scrum roles and how they interact within teams
  • How to act as a servant leader and improve transparency
  • Product backlog, refinement, and user stories
  • Sprint planning and effective estimation
  • The importance of events like the daily Scrum, sprint review, and retrospectives
